Lamborghini Aventador Ultimae : The Swansong Of The Iconic V12 Super Sports Car.

INTRODUCTION:

Nearly a decade after its debut at the Geneva Auto Show back in 2011, the Aventador is walking off into the sunset. Lamborghini wants to send off this icon with a bang. Enter the Lamborghini Aventador Ultimae LP 780-4 will be available in both Roadster and Coupe form. With pandemic playing spoilsport for the events, Ultimae made its debut in the 2021 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

DESIGN:

EXTERIOR:

The Lamborghini Aventador Ultimae pays homage to the blistering performance of the Aventador SVJ and the elegance of the Aventador S. Aventador Ultimae is the confluence of the above mentioned cars and delivering the best of both worlds. The dry weight of the Aventador Ultimae is around 1550 kg thanks to the extensive use of rigid, lightweight monocoque chassis and a power-to-weight ratio of 1.95 kg/bhp.

The customers for the Lamborghini Aventador Ultimae LP 780-4 will have wide variety of colours and options to choose from and the production is limited to 350 coupés and 250 roadsters each of which will be sold with a numbered plaque. Aventador Ultimae will have 18 standard colors and owners will also have the option to choose from over 300 colors and options to choose from Lamborghini Ad Personam. This enables the owners to configure the car to their own taste. The Coupés will have a two tone, grey-on-grey finish with the outline of the splitter finished in matte red Rosso Mimir. The Roadster variant is also offered with a visible carbon fibre roof. The coupé is 25 kilograms lighter than Aventador S.

INTERIOR:

The two tone theme is carried on to the interior as well with black leather and Alcantara base materials with grey contrast stitching with ‘Y’ inserts in Alcantara. The A pillar near the drivers dashboard will have numbering of the car like 001 of 350/250 depending upon the variant. The Lamborghini Aventador Ultimae also has a configurable TFT Display and also has Apple CarPlay. Customers can also opt for the Lamborghini Telemetry System for track purposes.

PERFORMANCE:

The Aventador Ultimae is powered by 6.5 Litre V12 engine that powers the in the Avebtador SVJ but it has been uprated to 780 bhp which is 10 bhp more than the SVJ and around 40 bhp more than the Aventador S. Th power is delivered through a four wheel drive system. Thanks to the extremely rigid,light weight carbon fibre monocoque chassis, the Aventador Ultimate can smash a ton at 2.5 seconds from a standstill. It has a top speed of 355 km/h and humongous torque of 720 Nm coming in at 6750 rpm. It also has Carbon Ceramic Brakes which brings this beast to a top in just 30 m. The car also has four wheel steering for a precise handling. The Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Attiva (LDVA) processes all the real time information on the body motion which is collected through sensors. Thus providing the best response for optimal vehicle control.

WHAT NEXT?

Lamborghini has made its intentions clear and it is keen to reinvent itself in the era of electric vehicles. That said, Lamborghini is expected to introduce the successor of the Aventador around 2022. This new car is expected to retain the V12 engine but will have hybrid technology similar to Sian.
